Leominster Data Center Outage

At approximately 8:50AM 2/14 the NET1Plus Leominster Data Center went offline. The Data Center was brought back online at approximately 9:58AM

The cause of the outage was a failed UPS serving a single power supply/non-redundant Fiber End Point Device. The device was move to the secondary UPS and the issue was resolved.

Conincidently, earlier in the week NET1Plus Engineers had identified the potentential risk posed to the network by the Fiber-End Point device and began developing a project to address the concern. That project plan has been approved and incorporated in to our Leomister Data Center decommissioning project.

The Fiber-End point will be eliminated and the routers will be moved to our carrier facility where carrier-class redundancy and fault-tolerance systems will be used to serve our T1 and GigE access customers.
