Week in Review October 3rd

This past week NET1Plus Ops and Admins continued the data center consolidation work. As a result the capacity of our core switch was increased by more than 50%. Power savings is estimated at about 3% but is difficult to measure due to the devices removed being on the secondary power source which lacks precise measurement tools.

Our consolidation work continues as we work towards decommissioning legacy infrastructure which has been replaced by virtualization technology.

This weekend we will be moving internal production systems, primarily our secondary data backup systems, from racks that are mixed with customer dedicated servers.

The end result of this week's work is the availability of space for up to an additional 40 dedicated servers.

Data Center and Network Up Time

Data Center and Network Up Time from 9/26/08 5PM to 10/3/08 5PM was 100%.

There were no unexpected NET1Plus Production server outages for the same period although there was a delay in email delivery on the @net1plus.com email addresses due to a phishing scam which is detailed below.
